Senior Infants celebrated Pancake Tuesday, and oh my, what a treat it was!

First, we learned about the tradition behind Pancake Tuesday, also known as Shrove Tuesday.
Did you know that people used to make pancakes to use up all the eggs, butter, and sugar in the house before Lent began? It was a fun way to clear out the kitchen and prepare for the 40 days of fasting that come with the season of Lent.
In class, we got to choose our toppings — from chocolate spread, marshmallows to a sprinkling of sugar. (DO NOT TELL THE PRINCIPAL!)
It was a nice little treat before we start Lent tomorrow!
