Our School Turned Blue! 💙

Today was a very exciting day.

When we came into school this morning, we saw blue and white balloons everywhere and a big blue poster to cheer on our teacher, Mr. Briody!

The whole school turned blue to support him as he gets ready to play for Cavan in the All-Ireland Hurling Final on Saturday in the Lory Meagher Cup Final against New York.

We were all asked to wear blue, and we were so proud to show our colours!

It was fun seeing everyone in their Cavan gear, even the teachers!

In the morning, our principal, Ms. Leonard, brought Mr. Briody up on stage and everyone gave him a big cheer!🎉

We are so proud of Mr. Briody and we will be cheering very loudly for him on Saturday! 💪

Up Cavan!💙

Sunny Fun with the Music on Wheels Roadshow!🎶🌞

What a fantastic day we had in Senior Infants today! The sun was shining brightly in Cavan with a lovely temperature of 22 degrees – perfect weather for an outdoor concert!😎

The Music on Wheels Roadshow came to visit our school, and the children had an amazing time singing along and dancing to all the lively tunes. There were big smiles, lots of laughter, and some brilliant dance moves on display!🕺💃🎤

A huge thank you to the Music on Wheels team for bringing so much joy and energy to our day. What a special memory for our Senior Infants to enjoy as we head into the summer term!☀️🎶

Starry Nights in Senior Infants!✨

This week, Senior Infants went on a colourful adventure into the world of Vincent van Gogh, one of the most famous artists in history!

Our teacher really wanted us to paint his famous Sunflowers, but after a very serious class vote (with lots of hands in the air!), The Starry Night was the clear winner.

Sorry, sunflowers – maybe next time!🌻

We looked closely at how Van Gogh used big swirly brushstrokes and bright colours to paint the night sky. Then we got busy creating our very own versions – full of stars, moons, and lots of imagination.🌟✨

Have a look at our brilliant artwork below – we think Van Gogh would be proud!🎨

Sunflower Planting Fun in Senior Infants!🌻

Senior Infants were busy little gardeners this week! Each child planted their own sunflower seed in a pot right in the classroom. There were lots of smiles, a bit of mess, and plenty of excitement as we talked about what seeds need to grow—soil, water, and sunshine!

Now, the pots are lined up by the window, and we’re watching closely for the very first sprouts.

We can't wait to watch our sunflowers grow taller each day. Stay tuned for updates as we nurture our little plants into big, bright blooms!🌻

Minibeast Adventures in the Summer Sun

Senior Infants had great fun exploring minibeasts in the summer sun!

Our class loved discovering these tiny creatures and learning all about their shapes, colours, and movements.

A wonderful way to enjoy nature and learn through play!

With the sun shining, our class loved hunting for ladybirds, worms, snails, and butterflies in the grass and schoolyard.

Using magnifying glasses, we peeked under leaves, logs, and flowers to see who’s hiding.
